Job Description
At St Leonard's Hospice we have a great opportunity for a Driver to join our Bank driving team.
In this role you will:
Carry out deliveries and collections of furniture and goods Transfer goods between the retail shops Collect goods for delivery to customers Remove and safely dispose of any waste material Ensure the vehicles are safe and maintained
You will have previous experience of driving a variety of vehicles, including larger vans. Experience of collecting and delivering goods is desirable and ideally, you will possess a good geographical knowledge of York and the surrounding area. This role is physically demanding too as there is a significant amount of lifting, moving and handling of items which can include stock items, heavy donation bags and light pieces of furniture.
This is a bank position, therefore shifts will be available on an ad hoc basis and will be to cover holiday/ sickness within the team. Our Retail Drivers currently work on a rota to cover 6 days out of 7, Monday to Saturday.
