BANK STAFF RESIDENTIAL CARE WORKER - THORNTON-CLEVELEYS AND CHORLEY - ZERO HOURS CONTRACT- Coda Care Ltd



Coda Care is seeking BANK STAFF Children's Residential Care Workers or Senior Residential Care Workers to work across our two children's homes in Chorley & Thornton-Cleveleys. Hourly rate from 12.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus 60 sleep-in rate). Experience not essential. Flexible availability & driving licence essential. THIS IS A ZERO HOURS CONTRACT. MUST HAVE DAY, EVENING & WEEKEND AVAILABILITY.



The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work at either of our homes to cover shifts when required. Your shift would start at 10am and end at 10.30am the following day, including a sleep. You will be working in Chorley and Thornton-Cleveleys. You'll have the option to accept or decline shifts based on your own availability, however, we are seeking bank staff who are willing to cover shifts subject to the needs of our children's home and some shifts may be offered at short notice. This role would be ideal for someone who wishes to top up their earnings, or perhaps for a student or someone who would like to gain experience in the sector without committing to full-time hours.

No two days are ever the same working in residential childcare. One day you can be taking the young person to school, tidying the house, and preparing dinner for when they return home; the next day you can be going to a trampoline park or helping to manage a serious incident. Working in a children's home can be a very varied role.

Residential childcare can also be a challenging role but it can be extremely rewarding. You will be supported by the Registered Manager to progress in your role, with fantastic training opportunities to help you progress your career. The home is also supported by a Child Psychologist who will offer staff consultations to support you in your role of working with children that have suffered abuse, trauma and neglect.

Our homes are registered to look after children with emotional & behavioral difficulties (EBD). We would welcome applications from anyone committed to providing the best care and support for vulnerable children and young people.

Previous experience is not necessarily required, and all staff will receive full training and an induction, but you must be passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:



? Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in the home at all times.

? Provide outstanding levels of care for children living in the home.

? Work as part of a team to ensure children and young people are supported with their health, education, having fun and staying safe.

? Follow Coda Care's policies and procedures at all times and to work within individual risk assessments.

? Supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and whose behaviour may be challenging as a result of their childhood experiences.

? To maintain the confidentiality of children and young people in line with company policies and GDPR legislation.

? Understand how to meet each child's individual needs.

? Raise concerns when worried about a child or young person, and ensure accurate recordings at all times.

? Completing daily paperwork in line with policies, procedures and legislation, and ensuring that other administrative tasks are completed to a high standard.

? Contribute to reports and meetings about children living in the home and work as part of a multi-agency team.

? If you do not already hold at least a Level 3 Diploma, a commitment to work towards completing this qualification in line with regulations.

- knowing appropriate times to use humour can help young people reduce their stresses or anxieties.

- carers need to be able to manage stressful incidents and behaviours as well as support young people who may have experienced significant abuse in their lives. You will be fully supported by the management team and Coda Care will support with staff counselling on a confidential basis.

Desirable:



? Previous experience in children's residential care is desirable but not essential

? Full UK Driving Licence

? IT and literacy skills to complete daily paperwork and update care plans

Pay:



FROM 12.50 per hour depending on experience, plus 60 per sleep-in. Bank Holidays paid at double time or time & a half. Working hours: A usual shift starts at 10am and finishes at 10.30am the next day, including a sleep.
