TRFS is committed to paying 40ph above the Scottish Government\xe2\x80\x99s Living Wage declared 2024/25 rate for Social Care. This means from April 2024 we intend to pay \xc2\xa312.40ph i.e. 40ph above the Scottish Government\xe2\x80\x99s committed rate. We are looking for caring, supportive, adaptable, approachable, empathetic, fun and positive individuals to join our Buckhaven teams, specifically to work waken night shifts on a bank contract. As a Bank member of staff you will cover staff leave, training, sickness and any other staff absences. Bank contracts are ideal for people who need the extra money and can\'t find childcare everyday. As a Bank staff member you choose what days you work, and you can work full time or part time hours, depending on your preference. The Senior Support Worker, who is responsible for the rota, will contact you to see if you are available to help out. As you are not required to do shifts, you can pick and choose the hours/shifts that suit you and work around your other commitments. Certain services operate enhanced weekend rates. The shifts available start at 9pm and finish at 8am (11hr shifts). These roles can be physically demanding due to the requirement to undergo CALM training and to follow CALM procedures whilst on shift. These posts are open to drivers and non-drivers. As a non-driver please ensure that you are able to get to shifts on time, especially during weekends and public holidays. You do not need to have worked in care to apply as we will invest in your qualifications and provide full training through our award-winning learning & development team prior to starting. We have a detailed, thorough induction for all new bank which must be met within a 28-day period therefore you must be able to commit to meeting this during induction period. Induction training takes place in our Kirkcaldy office during office hours. About the Role: Your responsibilities as a Support Practitioner could include:

  • Social Support- Assisting individuals to engage with their communities by planning and attending outings to various leisure activities such as day centres, cinema, swimming etc.
  • Medical Support- Administering and monitoring medication.
  • Personal Care- Assisting people to maintain their wellbeing by promoting their personal care which would include assistance with bathing, dressing, arranging visits with the dentist/doctor, incontinence care.
  • Practical Support- Helping people to maintain their tenancy by encouraging daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, shopping.

All successful Support Practitioner applicants will be given a conditional offer- this is subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and PVG: having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector.
