Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:
Who will you be supporting?
We are a friendly group of three adults sharing a cosy three?bedroom home in the Old Town of Runcorn. We're aged 70, 64 and 47 We each have some learning difficulties, but we live independently and enjoy a calm, comfortable routine.
We don't have any particular challenges that would make supporting us difficult. What matters most is having someone who is kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping others.
What is important to us?
What We're Proud Of
We're proud of the independence we've built and the confidence we have in getting out and about in our local community. We also take pride in how well we look after each other every day -- we're like our own little team.
What We Enjoy Doing
We love trying new experiences and really appreciate support staff who encourage us to step out of our comfort zones. Whether it's something completely different or just a small new activity, we're always up for giving it a go.
Our Interests
Between us, we've got loads of interests -- and we're always discovering more.
Some of our favourites include:
Rugby
Gardening
Films
Bowling
Cooking
Discos
We also love holidays and have travelled quite far over the years. We enjoy exploring places in the UK, but a good lads' trip to Spain is always a favourite!
One of us absolutely loves the Royal Family and has a brilliant collection of memorabilia from all the big royal occasions.
Another collects videos -- hundreds of them! The collection is impressive but can get a little cluttered, so gentle reminders to make space are helpful.
Other Important Information?
How many colleagues are on shift at any one time? We have one support worker each day and if we having some one to one time then there will be 2 support workers
What shifts do you work on? 10.00am till 10.00pm although the shifts are flexible depending on what we are doing
