Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:



Who will you be supporting?


My team are different in lots of ways (that's what makes them and me so interesting) the team support Adults aged 18 years and above. My team support me with different levels of mobility. I can walk short distances with a rollator but also have a power chair that I am to control myself with somebody present. My team support me, I am verbal however sometimes my speech is not always clear. At present my carer supports me with the following conditions/requirements: full assistance with all my aspects of personal care needs, to access the community which enables me to participate in everyday living activities and to keep in touch with the wider community. They provide a wide range and variety of food and drink to accommodate my dietary requirements. The team support me with various health conditions such as: Cerebral palsy, Moderate learning disabilities and Scoliosis deformity of the spine. Additional medical requirements can be discussed with the management team on assessment. All my staff are all trained and familiar with supporting me with all the above needs.

What is important to us?


I enjoy outdoor activities with the team. This includes; shopping ,dining out, I have visited London, church, concerts and a variety of tours. Other interests I have are; Trains, quiz nights, watching football matches and I attend day centre twice a week. I don't really like my own company, I prefer to watch television and chat with the staff. The staff provide a happy and safe environment in my home and we always respect each other's privacy, dignity and space

Any other important information?


There is always a member of staff during the day and night whilst I am in my home. Shifts vary in times however, there is always a sleep-in 7 nights a week and you could be starting as early at 7am so flexibility is needed for this role . The main objective is that we have a clean, friendly, and safe home ensuring that each of us individuals preferences and choices are met. ###
