Role Overview:
We're looking for a calm, confident, and compassionate
Support Worker
to provide one-to-one support to a vibrant individual with autism, a learning disability, and epilepsy.
This person has a big personality and some unique interests. They use a wheelchair independently and love getting out and about in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting day-to-day life, including
shopping, cooking, and personal care
Administering medication
as needed
Using
social stories and communication aids
to promote understanding and independence
Helping the person engage in the activities they love and explore new ones
Providing
calm and consistent support
during moments of anxiety or challenging behaviour
Confidently setting boundaries and using redirection when fixations or behaviours arise
Requirements:
Minimum of 6 months of paid care home experience in the UK.
Proficient in personal care tasks and moving and handling techniques.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to care.
