The Role:



As a Residential Bank Support Worker, you will be integral to the development and implementation of our residential care services. Your role will involve supporting and nurturing children and young people, helping them develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and become their best selves. You will work closely with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Support Workers and Support Workers to ensure the highest standards of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:



Daily Care and Support: Provide day-to-day support to children and young people, assisting with personal care, daily activities, and emotional needs. Foster a positive and supportive environment to aid their social, emotional, and behavioural development. Safe Environment: Ensure the home is a safe, stable, and nurturing space. Implement individualized care plans and continually monitor the wellbeing of each child. Professional Standards: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding practices. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, childcare legislation, and Sifaa's internal policies. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other care staff, sharing responsibilities and supporting each other to deliver the best care possible. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a cohesive work environment. Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with residents, their families, and colleagues. Keep detailed and accurate records, and prepare reports as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:



Essential: NVQ Level 2 Children's Workforce preferred. Experience: Previous experience working with children in a residential setting is highly desirable. Understanding of child development and trauma-informed care is advantageous.

Additional Responsibilities:



Domestic Duties: Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Perform household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and laundry to ensure the home runs smoothly. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders. Provide a supportive and understanding presence. Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met in their care plans. Behaviour Management: Implement and support positive behaviour strategies. Set appropriate boundaries and intervene when necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents. Health and Education: Support the health and educational needs of the residents. Accompany them to medical appointments, promote healthy lifestyles, and encourage academic and social progress. Administrative Tasks: Complete daily logs, update care plans, and conduct health and safety checks. Proficiency in IT is required for accurate record-keeping. Financial Management: Support the management of petty cash, assist young people with budgeting, and support them in managing their personal finances. Risk Assessments: Understand and work within established risk assessments, contributing to their evaluation and updating as needed.
