We are looking for compassionate, motivated and keen people to provide professional care to join our team at Meadowside looking after our residents with learning disabilities. We encourage our Support workers to provide the standard of care and support that they would wish their own family members to receive and want to improve peoples lives.

Registered Manager

Accountable to:

Trustees of The Meadowside Charity Newton Abbot & District

Purpose of Job:



Support residents with all aspects of their day to day living.

Ensure the wellbeing, safety and security of residents and others using or visiting the residential home.

Duties:



1. Provide personal care (including but not limited to assisting with washing and dressing) for service users as appropriate.

2. Ensure that residents' care plans are read, adhered to and kept up to date.

3. Assist with the manual transfers of service users as required, and according to correct manual handling processes.

4. Complete all required documentation for each resident, as directed by senior staff and management.

5. Make sure that residents' wishes, needs and opinions are sought and their choices are respected (an advocate may be involved).

6. Assist residents to take part in stimulating activities and social events.

7. Take residents to appointments, as required, document and follow through with any follow up actions.

8. Ensure you have information from the previous shift handover, including any changes to medication, incidents or residents' requirements since you were last on shift.

9. Carry out any daily delegations identified by the Management.

10. Assistance with domestic chores as required.

11. Maintain good supportive relationships with residents and other care staff, working well as a team.

12. Ensure that the home, equipment and grounds are in a safe and satisfactory condition. Report any maintenance or other issues to management, as necessary.

13. Treat residents with dignity and respect at all times.

14. Keep personal information regarding residents, staff and the charity confidential at all times.

15. Comply with the home's policies, procedures and practices at all times.

16. Be aware of all Health and Safety guidelines and of what action to take in the event of an emergency.

17. Attend training courses and staff meetings as requested by management.

18. Undertake other duties that may be reasonably requested.

19. May be required to work within the residential home, or the Daycare setting as requested by management.

Specific Requirements:



ESSENTIAL



Be over 18 years old.

Self motivated, organized and flexible.

Caring and sensitive to the needs of others.

An active team member but also able to work on own initiative.

A good communicator.

DESIRABLE



Previous experience within a care setting desirable, however not necessary as full training will be given.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.24-13.21 per hour
