We are looking for someone who:
Is
22 years of age or above
(to meet regulatory requirements).
Holds an
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
or equivalent (desirable).
Has
at least 2 years' experience in residential care
, supporting adults with complex needs (desirable).
Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
What will I do as a Residential Support Worker?
The role involves helping people with daily living, personal care, and achieving independence by providing practical, emotional, and social assistance, including tasks like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, accessing activities, managing health needs (like medication), and supporting personal goals, all within a person-centered plan. Focus will be on empowering individuals (with learning disabilities, autism, or health needs) to live fulfilling lives, working closely with families and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Living Skills:
Assisting with meal prep, shopping, cleaning, managing finances, paying bills, and using public transport.
Personal Care:
Helping with bathing, dressing, and hygiene, depending on the client's needs.
Health & Well-being:
Supporting medical needs, administering medication (if trained), attending appointments, and monitoring mental health.
Social & Emotional Support:
Providing companionship, listening to concerns, encouraging hobbies, and helping clients connect with friends, family, and community activities.
Goal Setting:
Working with individuals to set and achieve personal goals, from simple tasks to long-term aspirations like education or employment.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate, factual records of support provided and any changes in the client's condition or needs.
Collaboration:
Liaising with families, doctors, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and enhanced DBS check.
