Annual leave: holiday is accrued on the hours worked and paid every 3 months.

Three Roses Homes was established in 1972, and is a registered charity that provides residential care for 14 adults with learning disabilities. Some of our individuals have also developed dementia and/or varying degrees of mobility problems. The home provides person centred support to our services users.

General Duties
The ideal candidate for this role will have
Level 2 Adult Health and Social Care qualification
Previous experience of people with Learning Disabilities and Dementia
Previous experience in health and social care.
This role is classified as bank support, hours will vary dependent on the needs of the service, the expectation is that the candidate will provide support to cover sickness and holidays for our night staff team.
The night shift team consists of two waking staff. These two will share the workload equally and for the majority of shifts will be of the same seniority. Either the Home Manager or her deputy are on call at night for emergencies.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
To answer promptly all Medicare alarm calls, assessing each situation and dealing with any individual who is seeking help or support. In cases of emergency, summoning the help of emergency services.
To carry out and record regular checks on specified residents throughout the night, according to their individual care plans.
Support individuals with continence care where necessary and with due regard and respect to their specific preferences and wishes.
To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene, Health and safety and Infection control guidelines.
To report all accidents as soon as possible.
To carry out regular checks on the building, with particular reference to fire prevention and external security.
To awaken residents in the morning at their requested times, where appropriate.
To assist individuals with their personal care needs as instructed by Team leaders, following individual care plans.
To read and complete reports as necessary, including staff read and sign memos, communication book and diary.
To keep up-to-date with individual care plans.
To participate in training / courses / staff meetings, as directed by the Manager.
To undertake other duties, as necessary, including household tasks, i.e. laundry, cleaning, preparing breakfast.
Give residents medication if needed.
To keep accurate records of all night checks on Cura system.
Undertake handover to ensure all necessary information is relayed to day staff.
