A national and global law firm.

THE ROLE

A practice development lawyer (PDL) (or professional support lawyer/PSL) is sought to start ideally from mid-December 2023 for 12 months to work 3 or 4 days a week supporting its thriving Banking and Finance team.

The role is a maternity cover for an existing member of the team. PSL experience is useful but not essential.

Candidates seeking flexible working arrangements will be considered.

You will be joining a Banking and Finance PDL team which performs an essential, high-profile role in the Department.

The primary focus of this role is to support the general transactional banking practice, working alongside the knowledge partner who heads the Banking and Finance PDL team.

THE CANDIDATE

With strong academic credentials, you will be an England & Wales law qualified solicitor with significant experience as a fee-earning transactional banking and finance lawyer, available at relatively short notice for 12 months.

Experience as a banking and finance PDL/PSL at a City firm is useful but not essential.

You should have good technical skills, with a strong grounding in the fundamentals of English contract law, company law, guarantees, security, and insolvency, and an ability to apply those fundamentals practically and commercially in the context of finance transactions.

A good understanding of, and familiarity with, LMA facility agreements would also be of interest.
