Job Description

Are you an experienced Banking Solicitor seeking an exciting role in Leeds? Our client, a leading team with a strong national presence, is looking to appoint an experienced Solicitor with a background in banking law to join their dynamic team in Leeds. This role offers the opportunity to work across real estate finance and corporate banking, with significant exposure to major lenders as well as international clients. It presents an excellent career opportunity for someone keen to drive their career and work with established players in the market without any limit to their progression, and indeed a fabulous platform from which to grow it and capitalise upon existing opportunities within the firm.
The successful candidate will be part of a well-respected team led by a renowned partner, one well known for their straightforward approach and strong industry relationships. They are open-minded about your exact level of experience and can consider lawyers from 3 years pqe right up to Legal Director level.
As an established provider to the main retail banks, quality alternative lenders, and a strong raft of international banks that operate in the UK, you would get access to the full range of work they handle, much of which has signficant values attached to them. Depending upon your level of experience, you would be able to take on and manage client relationships; they have plenty to share and are keen to do so. In our experience, this is relatively unusual and makes this an excellent opportunity for someone keen to advance their career significantly - there wouldn't be anyone clipping your wings!
Whilst the team is busy, their highly collaborative environment helps with the peaks of the work, as does the practice's willingness to invest.
In summary, you should have experience in banking law, real estate finance, or corporate banking, and be eager to work on high-profile, panel-led work with scope for international interaction.

  • Qualified Solicitor with approximately 3-yrs pqe up to Legal Director in banking law, real estate finance, or corporate banking
  • Experience working on substantial banking transactions, as part of a team or individually, and managing client relationships
  • Ability to work effectively within a national team and contribute to business development efforts ( as appropriate for experience)
  • Flexibility to be based in Leeds, with potential to work from other offices in the UK
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to client engagement
  • An understanding of banking panels and experience in managing high-value banking transactions is desirable
Joining this firm means becoming part of a vibrant, collegiate team with a significant national client base and international exposure. The firm offers competitive salaries, including a generous holiday allowance and a rewarding bonus that pays out year on year. The team offers hybrid working and operates on a very flexible approach. They work on a national basis, fostering a professional but relaxed and collaborative working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their banking career within a forward-thinking firm that actively supports relationship-building and professional development, and can offer a significant number of panel appointments with which you can work and use to advance your career.
We appreciate that Banking Lawyers are always in high demand, but this role stands out if you are looking to position yourself to fast-track your career. They deliver the perfect platform to do so whilst blending that with a supportive and collaborative environment. For a confidential discussion, contact rachael.mann@saccomann.com or on 0113 4677111
