Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Assistant to support the development and well-being of young children within our early years setting. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in child development, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to creating a nurturing environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, and contribute positively to their learning journey.

Duties



Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging activities tailored to children's developmental stages. Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation. Foster a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes children's emotional and social development. Provide personalised support through tutoring, mentoring, and creative writing exercises to enhance literacy skills. Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to monitor progress and address individual needs effectively. Help organise daily routines such as meal times, play sessions, and rest periods. Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among children through gentle guidance and modelling appropriate conduct. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery environment to meet health and safety standards.

Skills



Experience working with children in early years or educational settings. Knowledge of special education principles and working with children with disabilities or autism. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning needs, including tutoring and mentoring roles. Creative writing skills to support literacy activities and storytelling sessions. Compassionate attitude with a patient and nurturing approach. Organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. Enthusiastic team player committed to continuous professional development in early childhood education.
Pay: 7.55-12.21 per day
