We are seeking an experienced

Bar and Hospitality Manager

to oversee the daily operations of our busy members club bar and drive growth in our hospitality offerings. This is a flexible part-time role, approximately 20 hours per week, to include evenings and weekends as necessary. The ideal candidate will be a strong, organised leader who is approachable and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

This role involves planning, structuring and managing the bar team and hospitality operations. You will play a key role in event planning and execution, for example, meeting with clients for wedding receptions or birthday celebrations, planning Christmas events, assisting with bookings and overseeing events on the day.

Key Responsibilities

Train, lead, and supervise the bar and hospitality team to ensure smooth operations in your absence. Work behind the bar during quieter shifts while completing administrative tasks (Wednesday and Thursday afternoons might be ideal for this). Manage stock levels, stock rotation, order supplies, and oversee deliveries (typically 8am once a week). Ensure excellent customer service and promptly address member needs, progressing to and working with the operations manager if needed. Monitor serving standards and maintain cleanliness of the bar area. Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and performance reviews to create and support a motivated team. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and implement necessary protocols and routines. Negotiate with suppliers and ensure timely deliveries. Share responsibility for locking-up protocols and staff training around this. Keep up to date with your own training as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in bar or hospitality management with team leadership responsibilities. Strong leadership and motivational skills. Knowledge of UK food safety standards and regulations. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. Strong communication skills to liaise with management, staff, directors, and members. Personal licence desirable, but not essential.
