Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Server/Bartender to join our vibrant team at The Haberdashery Bistro in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional guest services and have a keen ability to upsell menu items. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests have an enjoyable dining experience, while also maintaining the highest standards of food safety and culinary excellence. As part of an intimate team, you will be given the opportunity to work both on the floor and behind the bar. Bar work will be incorporated into this role and, although cocktail experience is preferred, it is by no means necessary. A keen and willing attitude towards learning is primarily what we are looking for.
Duties
Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring attention to detail.
Provide recommendations on menu items, showcasing upselling skills to enhance guest experience.
Serve food and drinks promptly, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist guests with any inquiries or special requests, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including resetting tables for new guests.
Handle payments accurately and efficiently, demonstrating basic maths skills during transactions.
Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of menu items and restaurant policies.
Prepare drinks behind the bar to the standard expected.
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
Strong guest service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
Basic understanding of culinary practices and food safety standards is advantageous.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated when required.
