Barker's Tavern -- A New Opening from The Barker Family

Founding Bar Team Member (Part-time & Full-time Positions Available)

We're bringing a timeless, high-end tavern to Cardiff: classic boozer feel, craft-first bartending, speciality cocktails, premium spirits, perfect pints, and live music. Join as a founding team member and help us launch something special, with real opportunities to progress within our company.

You'll join The Barker Family, owners of the Vintage Tea & Coffee Co. group, operating seven venues across Wales and England, including four in Cardiff's Castle Arcade. You might know our sister venues: Gin & Juice, Rum & Fizz, Coffee Barker, and Maison de Boeuf. Barker's Tavern is the newest addition. You'll join a close network of family-operated venues and teams, becoming part of a large, like-minded social community in the heart of Cardiff City Centre, a truly unique opportunity.

What You'll Do

Make great drinks to spec and serve with genuine, upbeat hospitality. Nail the details: presentation, quality, and elevated guest experiences are at the core of what we do. Have fun with it; staff morale is key, and we take pride in fostering a fun working environment and enjoyable atmosphere. Open/close shifts, follow checklists, serve customers and follow the direction of senior leadership.

What You'll Bring

Experience required (1-2 years preferred) in high-end bar or restaurant hospitality. Guest-first mindset, strong communication, confidence. Sharp attention to detail and pride in standards.

A problem solver who is proactive and engaging with customers and their team alike Solid knowledge of classic cocktails, beers, and wines. Someone who thrives in a buzzing environment and enjoys working as part of a fully cross-trained team in multiple roles.

Schedule

Availability for late nights and weekends is essential.

Availability over Christmas and Dec is essential.

Venue trades Wednesday-Sunday; late finishes on peak nights. Mix of day/evening shifts; flexible schedules available.
