Overview - The Victoria Pub

We're looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Bar Staff to join our friendly team at The Victoria. As an important part of our lively pub atmosphere, you'll help create a warm and welcoming environment for every guest. This role isn't just about serving drinks -- it's about delivering great service, building rapport with customers, and helping make every visit a memorable one.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to our established standards. Keep the bar area clean, tidy, and well-stocked, ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Provide excellent customer service -- taking orders promptly, engaging with guests, and offering recommendations when needed. Handle cash and card payments accurately, maintaining attention to detail with every transaction. Manage your time effectively during busy periods, ensuring consistent, high-quality service. Support the team by assisting with training new staff when required, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Experience

Previous experience working in a pub, bar, or restaurant is preferred but not essential -- enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important. Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices is an advantage. Strong communication and people skills, with a genuine passion for hospitality. Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Basic bartending knowledge and good time management skills are beneficial.
