The Conwy Comrades Club is looking for friendly, reliable, and community-minded individuals to join our Bar Team. As an important part of our member-focused venue, you will help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere while ensuring high standards of service.
This role is ideal for anyone who enjoys working in a social environment and takes pride in good customer service. Previous bar or hospitality experience is helpful but not essential -- full training will be provided, including club procedures and licensing compliance.
Responsibilities
Serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks efficiently and courteously to members and guests.
Take orders accurately and process payments through the club's POS/card systems.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe bar area throughout the shift.
Comply with all licensing conditions, Pub Watch, Challenge 25 requirements, and club policies.
Assist with restocking, rotating stock, and maintaining correct cellar/bar hygiene standards.
Provide excellent customer service and engage positively with members, guests, and visitors.
Handle customer queries or issues professionally, escalating to the Bar Manager when required.
Support colleagues and contribute to smooth bar operations during busy periods and events.
Qualifications & Attributes
Previous hospitality or bar experience is an advantage but not essential.
Understanding of responsible alcohol service and food safety (training will be provided).
Friendly, approachable, and confident when interacting with the public.
Good organisational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Basic maths skills for handling cash/card transactions accurately.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a close-knit team.
A positive attitude and a genuine interest in providing a great experience for members and guests.
