Here at The Tavern we're a tadtional country pub located in the heart of Derbyshire. We're looking at changing our concept in 2026 to offer to our customers, and we're expanding our team into the new year to help with our goal! We are looking for two experienced front of house team members to join us from January, with room for progression as we get busier throughout the year!

Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Provide menu recommendations and upsell specials or additional items
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables
- Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address any issues or complaints
- Process payments and handle cash transactions
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and dining area

Skills:

- Experience with cash handling and banking procedures is preferable, but not neccessary
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members
- Ability to work with others in a team, as well as be proacrive
- Basic math skills for accurate order taking and payment processing
- Knowledge of culinary terms, ingredients, and menu items is a plus!
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations

Hours of work:

We are estimating that in January there will be 20 hours a week available, this increasing with staff holidays/ sickness cover/ additional large events. As we get busier throughout the spring/summer, hours can be expected to increase to 30+ per week.

Working Pattern

: We offer a flexible working schedule, but our ideal candidate will have weekend availability for the majority of their scheduled hours. Specifics as to a working pattern can be discussed at the interview stage.

Please Note:

Due to our lone-working policy, candidates must be over 21 to work independantly on the bar. Candidates 18 - 21 will be considered if experience is in line with what we're looking for.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
