Bar Staff (Events & Weddings)

Location:

The Carriage Rooms at Montalto, Ballynahinch

Reports to:

Events & Weddings Manager

Position Type:

Casual / Part-Time (Evenings and Weekends Primarily)

Role Purpose

As a member of the bar team at The Carriage Rooms, you will be a key ambassador for the Montalto Estate brand. You will provide a sophisticated, efficient, and warm beverage service to wedding parties and corporate guests, ensuring that every interaction reflects the elegance and excellence of our venue. We are looking for energetic, professional individuals to join our team. While experience is an advantage, we value personality and a willingness to learn above all else. Please note that due to licensing laws and event schedules, candidates must be over 18 and ideally have their own means of transport.

Key Responsibilities

Excellence in Service:

Deliver a high standard of drink preparation and service, including wines, spirits, cocktails, and draught beers.

Guest Engagement:

Greet guests with a professional and friendly demeanor, offering recommendations and ensuring all dietary or preference requirements are met.

Maintain Standards:

Keep the bar area, glassware, and guest areas pristine and organised throughout the shift.

Efficiency:

Work calmly and effectively under pressure during peak service times (e.g., post-ceremony drinks reception or evening party).

Compliance:

Adhere to all licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and estate-specific policies regarding the responsible service of alcohol.

Stock Management:

Assist with restocking, managing keg changes, and ensuring minimal wastage.
Person Specification

Experience:

Previous experience in a high-end bar, hotel, or events environment is highly preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Character:

A 'can-do' attitude with a genuine passion for hospitality. You should be well-presented, punctual, and reliable.

Communication:

Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously within a large events team.

Flexibility:

Availability to work late nights, weekends, and bank holidays as required by the wedding and events calendar.
