Job Description

Join our team at Salcombe Brewery's newest venture - a waterside taphouse in the heart of Salcombe. We're looking for passionate and energetic bar staff who understand that great service is about more than just pouring the perfect pint (though that's important too!).

As part of our front-line team, you'll be the face of Salcombe Brewery, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our award-winning beers with locals and visitors alike. You'll help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes a great taphouse feel like home.

Purpose of Post:



To provide the best possible customer service at all times to ensure the smooth running and successful operation of the Tap House.

Duties and Responsibilities:



To work and to give the best service to all customers at all times. To promote the company's best commercial interests. To ensure all products served to customers are kept in the best possible condition and served looking their best. To be knowledgeable of Salcombe Brewery products. To assist, where required, with brewery & Tap House tours and talks. Remain smart, clean, polite, professional and approachable at all times ensuring good staff/customer interactions and relations To provide excellent bar, food and coffee service, and undertake any reasonable actions asked by management. To obey all regulations regarding the legal provision of alcohol to members of the public, and obeying all company policies. To comply with all statutory and legal requirements, including fire, Health and Safety, licensing and employment To ensure adequate security of all stock and furniture, fixtures and fittings. To uphold excellent levels of cleanliness in line with up to date Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations while working in the kitchen and coffee areas. To ensure high quality food service at all times while working in the kitchen.

General:



To understand and uphold the Vision, Mission and Values of the company and ensure that these guide and inform the work and conduct of the post holder. To keep Salcombe Tap House's core aims in mind at all times while at work, aligning all work efforts with the plan. To be knowledgeable of relevant company policies, including any legal requirements. To work in accordance with all company policies and procedures. To undertake duties from time to time, as requested by Management that may be reasonably considered within the scope of the post. To attend/ complete all relevant training as required. To be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, the role holder may be assigned to other areas of the wider Salcombe Brewery organisation to meet the needs of the service. This will in turn provide development opportunities in which to broaden experience.

The Package:

Person Specification:



Qualifications



Essential



1. Minimum of 5 GCSE's A- C (or equivalent numerical grades)

Desirable



1. Food Hygiene Level 1 or 2 qualification

Experience



Essential



1. Previous experience in a customer facing role.

Desirable



1. Experience working behind a bar.

2. Experience working in a food outlet.

Knowledge



Essential



1. Experience and knowledge of using EPoS (electronic till) systems.

2. Knowledge of basic alcohol laws and regulations surrounding sale.

Desirable



1. Knowledge of alcohol licensing law.

2. Knowledge of health & safety laws.

3. Knowledge of food safety laws.

Skills



Essential



1. Demonstarte good interpersonal skills.

Availability



Essential



1. Must be able to work a range of shifts throughout the week depending on the needs of the business.

2. Be available to work up to 25 hours per week during busiest times.

3. Must be available to work during the busiest months of the year (May - September)

4. Be available to work over the Christmas and New Year period as required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 18 per week
