The Queens Pub in Aintree is a friendly, community-based local pub looking for

reliable and enthusiastic Bar Staff

to join our team. We're proud of our welcoming atmosphere and strong customer relationships, and we're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and delivering great service.

This role requires someone confident behind the bar, able to use initiative, and comfortable working in both quiet periods and very busy service.

Important Availability Requirement

Applicants must be available for full days on the 9th, 10th & 11th of April.

Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and busy periods is essential.

Responsibilities

Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks efficiently and accurately Provide friendly, professional customer service Build and maintain positive relationships with customers in a community pub setting Use initiative during quieter shifts to help with additional duties Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area Check ID and ensure responsible service Handle cash and card transactions accurately Restock bar supplies as required Follow health and safety regulations Prevent and calmly defuse customer conflict when needed Assist with events, promotions, and special nights Ideally social media savvy, or willing to get involved with promoting the pub
Requirements & Skills

Friendly and approachable with strong communication skills

Reliable and punctual (essential)

Able to stay calm and professional under pressure Confident working in both busy and quiet environments Proactive, organised, and a strong team player Good conflict management skills Drinks knowledge is desirable but not essential (training provided) Flexible availability including evenings and weekends Basic numeracy skills for handling payments
