Role Overview

As a Barista at Matcha by Hudson, you'll be the face of our brand, preparing high-quality matcha-based drinks and delivering excellent customer service to customers. You'll ensure every guest leaves with a positive experience, whether they're grabbing a quick latte on the go or trying matcha for the first time.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve all drinks according to recipes and presentation standards. Deliver fast, friendly, and consistent service to every customer. Confidently explain matcha, menu items, and milk/customisation options. Upsell seasonal specials and add-ons (extra shots, alternative milks). Keep the workspace clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards. Restock supplies (milk, syrups, cups, lids, matcha) throughout the shift. Handle payments and operate the POS system accurately. Follow opening, closing, and daily cleaning checklists. Work as part of a team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.

Skills & Qualities

Positive, energetic, and customer-focused. Strong communication skills with a friendly approach. Ability to work under pressure and deliver drinks quickly. Attention to detail for presentation and accuracy. Willingness to learn about matcha and share knowledge with customers. Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous barista or hospitality experience preferred (training provided). Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
