Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Barista to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of speciality coffee preparation, including espresso machine tuning and precise coffee measurements, and will have a keen eye for detail. With 1-2 years of hands-on experience, the successful candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional customer service, crafting high-quality beverages, and contributing to an inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve an array of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and a selection of speciality drinks, with meticulous attention to detail. Ensure cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards in all food preparation areas, consistently following health and safety regulations. Operate and maintain coffee machines and associated equipment to the highest standard, ensuring optimal performance and regular servicing. Assist with the preparation and presentation of food items, ensuring consistency and quality at all times. Engage with customers to take accurate orders, offer product recommendations, and personalise experiences based on their individual preferences. Efficiently manage time during busy periods to maintain swift service without compromising quality. Process cash and card transactions accurately, maintaining accurate records of sales and managing till operations.

Skills

A minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a Barista, with a thorough understanding of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machine tuning, and coffee measurement. A genuine passion for speciality coffee and an eagerness to stay abreast of industry trends, new techniques, and evolving coffee culture. Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time management skills, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and positive demeanour. Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Basic numeracy skills to manage cash transactions, handle orders accurately, and ensure smooth operations.
