Position: Barista

Hours: 22hrs per week over 3 shifts (Wed - Fri)
Typical shift 8am - 3.30pm*

Pay: 12.88 per hour

Pension: 5% Employers contribution.

Annual Leave: 32 days annual leave, increasing to 37 days in year two of employment (PRO-RATA). This includes some set public holidays and two-week closure over Christmas and New Year.

Location: NHS Lauriston Building, EH3



Term: Permanent

About Coorie:



Coorie is our food-based social enterprise for Space @ The Broomhouse Hub. We have a permanent community cafe in the Hub, a well-established corporate catering business, and a thriving mobile pizza operation serving up across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.

As part of our mission to grow our operation we have won a tender to operate coffee kiosks within NHS venues in central Edinburgh.

The Role:



This is a new and essential element of Coorie's operation and the chance to really make a difference to a developing a thriving social business.

The Coffee Kiosk Barista will carry out the day to day operation of the kiosk to ensure that customer needs are met, daily tasks are completed, and high levels of food production are maintained.

Typical tasks will include:

Being the face of Coorie maintaining a high level of service for customers Serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks to the public Completing daily cleaning task lists and food safe paperwork Ensure stock is labelled, stored and rotated appropriately Monitoring stock levels and placing orders Reporting customer feedback to aid the growth and development of the kiosk
The successful candidate should:

Have experience of working in a fast-paced cafe/catering environment Be comfortable working alone and have the ability to use initiative and work without supervision Be able to demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and customer service have the physical mobility to lift weight of up to 5kg, following good manual handling practices Have excellent English communications skills - verbal and written Hold a basic food hygiene certificate

The hours of work will mostly be morning and afternoons, however there may be opportunities for overtime and evening working to facilitate events at our other Edinburgh.
