As a Barista, you will be the face of our cafe, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages, pastries, sourdough and food items. Your role will involve not only crafting delicious drinks but also ensuring that all food safety standards are met. You will engage with customers, take orders, and manage the cafe's daily operations efficiently.
Cover is required mainly on a Tuesday, Wednesday and every second weekend on a weekly basis however, flexibility to cover staff leave or absence would be beneficial.
Duties
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and smoothies.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including preparing light snacks.
Handle cash transactions and operate the till while ensuring basic math skills are utilised for accurate payments.
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
Skills
Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Strong understanding of food safety practices to maintain a hygienic environment.
Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
Effective time management abilities to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
