Job Description

We're looking for experienced, part-time

Baristas

who are passionate about

coffee, customer service, and the great outdoors

. If you love crafting quality coffee, engaging with people, and working in a beautiful natural setting, we'd love to hear from you!

As a key part of our small team, you'll be responsible for every aspect of running

Hiatus Coffee

--from delivering exceptional service to keeping our space clean and organised.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare and serve

high-quality coffee, tea, and our

famous special hot chocolates

with consistency and attention to detail.

Deliver outstanding customer service,

creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Operate and maintain

the coffee machine, grinders, and other equipment safely.

Accurately handle

cash and card transactions.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene

in and around the coffee shop, including regular cleaning of workspaces, equipment, and customer areas.

Monitor and manage stock levels,

ensuring supplies are replenished as needed.

Work effectively both independently and as part of a team,

taking initiative to complete necessary tasks.

Adapt to different roles

as needed, including serving, cleaning, and restocking.

Comfortable in front of a camera

and being on our socials (a willingness to try is key)

Engage with outdoor activity customers,

offering friendly and knowledgeable service about the activities available on-site.

Essential Requirements:



Proven experience as a

Barista

, with a solid understanding of coffee preparation and equipment. Strong

customer service skills

with the ability to engage with a diverse range of people. Ability to

multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Strong

time management skills

and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Attention to detail, particularly in

cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

as required. A

love for nature and the outdoors,

with the ability to work comfortably in an outdoor setting.

Comfortable being on your feet for long periods.


Desirable (but not essential):



A valid

Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2)

and

First Aid training

(or willingness to obtain them). Experience handling

stock management and ordering supplies.

Previous experience working in an

outdoor

or

seasonal hospitality

environment. An interest in

watersports or outdoor activities

(to better connect with our customer base).

Basic computer literacy

(for simple POS operations, stock tracking, etc.).

Basic social media understanding

(to assist with occasional online engagement).
