The

Barista

plays a key role in delivering an outstanding cafe experience by preparing high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role requires passion for coffee, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, juices, smoothies, and other beverages to cafe standards. Maintain consistency in recipes, flavour, and presentation. Assist with calibration of espresso machines and grinders. Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and related supplies. Prepare batches for juices, smoothies and all necessary ingredients following the par levels.

Customer Service

Provide a friendly, welcoming experience for all guests. Take orders accurately and efficiently. Educate customers about menu items, coffee options, and brewing methods. Handle customer feedback and resolve minor concerns in a positive manner.

Operations & Cleanliness

Keep the bar and cafe areas clean, organized, and well-stocked. Follow hygiene, food safety, and workplace safety guidelines. Perform regular equipment cleaning and report any maintenance issues. Assist in reducing waste and supporting overall cafe efficiency.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role (preferred). Knowledge of specialty coffee and brewing methods (training available). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail. Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays. Food Safety certification (a plus).

Working Conditions

Fast-paced cafe environment. Standing for extended periods. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
