Position Overview

As a

Barista

, you're the face of PLANT SHACK--serving up incredible drinks with speed, care, and personality. You'll craft high-quality coffee and juice bar items while creating moments of connection with every guest. This is a hands-on, high-energy role for someone who thrives in a busy environment and genuinely enjoys making people's day better--one cup at a time.

Key Responsibilities

Drink & Product Preparation

Prepare all coffee, tea, juice, and smoothie menu items to standard Operate the espresso machine, grinders, blenders, and other cafe equipment confidently and safely Follow recipes with precision and consistency Stay up to date with seasonal menu items and specials

Customer Experience

Deliver friendly, warm, and efficient service at all times Connect with customers through conversation, recommendations, and hospitality Ensure wait times are minimal while maintaining quality

Cleanliness & Organisation

Maintain a clean and well-organised bar and customer-facing area at all times Follow opening, closing, and shift routines (cleaning, restocking, temperature logs) Ensure hygiene, food safety, and allergen procedures are followed

Team Collaboration & Communication

Communicate clearly with kitchen and floor teams to ensure seamless service Support other roles as needed (e.g., till, prep, delivery hand-off) Participate in team life and contribute to a positive store culture

Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience as a Barista in a cafe, coffeeshop, juice bar or hospitality environment Excellent customer service and communication skills Fast, efficient, and detail-oriented Reliable, punctual, and proactive Passion for plant-based food, coffee culture, or sustainability a strong plus
