Job Description

A Pret Barista Maestro works as part of a team in a Pret shop in the front of house


They are responsible for creating an efficient & welcoming environment engaging and "wowing" our customers and producing great quality Pret food.


Key focuses for the role are teamwork, 6 key points of service, 6 key points of production, cleanliness, and productivity.

Key responsibilities



Ensuring yourself and the team act as ambassadors to the local community, engaging with customers and promoting Pret's values. Participate when required in community events and initiatives to build positive relationships with residents and businesses. Support and coach the team to ensure they reach their potential in the shop. Be an expert in Pret drinks characteristics and standards. Coach and train Team Members and Barista Lead in Training on Barista Prepared Drinks (BPD) and standards. Lead by example and be hands-on. Assign duties amongst team members to match individual productivity rates, skill sets, and current responsibilities. Ensure all hot drink training material is available and up to date. Follow Pret's dress code and be immaculately presented, always wearing the correct uniform.

Amazing Service: 6 Key Points of Service



Ensure the team consistently follows the 6 Key Points of Service. Positively engage with customers and the team about Pret's Coffee story and Coffee menu to ensure Pret Buzz. Serve BPD o the SOS standard, communicating to customers and the team when this is not possible. Engage the team to deliver Joy of Pret activities . Ensure the Coffee Calling System is followed efficiently. Role model the 3Bs and empower the team to Be Kind, Be Honest, Be Generous.

Delicious Food & Drink: 6 Key Points of Production



Make all BPD to Pret standards. Follow the 6 key points of productionMaintain milk quality and coffee quality through tasting and weighing relevant Barista prepared drinks. Ensure BPD are made by trained employees consistently, and to the highest standard. Report any barista-prepared drink ingredient quality issues to the General Manager. Ensure the team consistently delivers delicious food by following the Steps of Production. Ensure the RSOTF Production Process is always followed to guarantee customer safety, and that each product is accurately made and labelled.

Well Loved Shop: Cleanliness and Health & Safety



Make all BPD to Pret standards. Maintain milk quality and Coffee quality through tasting and weighing relevant Barista prepared drinks. Ensure BPD are made by trained employees consistently, and to the highest standard. Report any BPD ingredient quality issues to the General Manager.

Shop Profitability: Productivity



Manage the waste levels of food and BPD ingredients. Support and coach the team to achieve agreed levels of productivity. Ensure good stock control by following the Steps of Unaccounted. Always follow merchandising guidelines and ensure marketing is used effectively to drive sales.

Shop Profitability: Growing Sales



Participate in local initiatives, opportunities, and community events. Support the execution of successful launches. Ensure sufficient stocks of BPD ingredients, packaging, and small equipment. Encourage clear and engaging communication between the whole team to ensure business needs are met. Use promotional waste to sample and recognise customers with the appropriate volume of drinks via Joy of Pret. * Ensure availability criteria is met.
