Along our journey, we've immensely proud to have launched Embankment Kitchen, our modern seasonal restaurant and bar, as well as Embankment Cafe Co., offering artisan coffees and freshly made cakes and sandwiches. As a Barista, you will prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages to customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. The role involves operating coffee equipment, maintaining inventory, and creating a welcoming environment for customers.

Key Responsibilities:



Beverage Preparation:

o Brew coffee and prepare a variety of espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, and mochas.

o Prepare hot and cold beverages, including teas, iced drinks, and smoothies.

o Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other coffee-making equipment.

o Follow recipes and customer preferences to ensure consistency and quality.

Customer Service:

o Greet customers warmly and take food and beverage orders.

o Provide knowledgeable recommendations on coffee and tea offerings as well as the food menu and retail products.

o Maintain a friendly and professional attitude while interacting with customers.

o Ensure accurate order fulfilment and timely service.

Cash Handling and POS System:

o Process customer payments using a point-of-sale (POS) system.

o Handle cash, credit/debit transactions, and provide change as needed.

o Keep accurate records of transactions and manage register cash drawers.

Cleanliness and Organisation:

o Maintain a clean and organised work area, including countertops, equipment, and storage areas.

o Clean coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment regularly.

o Follow proper food safety and sanitation protocols.

Inventory Management:

o Monitor and restock inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies.

o Inform management of low stock or equipment malfunctions.

Team Collaboration:

o Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient service.

o Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, restocking, and setting up the coffee station.

Upselling and Promotions:

o Promote seasonal specials, new menu items, and loyalty programs.

o Upsell products, such as pastries, snacks, or additional drinks.
