Location: Based at UKAEA CULHAM CAMPUS 0X14 3DB will be required to work across Oxfordshire

Salary: 37.5hrs per week 14 PH Overtime extra + travel expenses own transport essential driving licence required.

Baxterstorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team in Abingdon. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced cafe environment. Must have access to own transport travel expenses paid. Driving licence required

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, using high-quality beans and proper techniques Overseeing coffee shop operation and supporting manager Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other cafe equipment Create visually appealing latte art to enhance the customer experience Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system Handle cash and card transactions with precision Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information and recommendations Assist in managing inventory and stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations during peak hours Stay updated on coffee trends and Baxterstorey's menu offerings

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines Proficiency in creating latte art and other decorative coffee presentations Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Competent in cash handling and using POS systems Food hygiene certificate (preferred) Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
