JOB OVERVIEW



Bosworth Independent School is seeking a friendly, motivated, and servicefocused Barista to join our Catering and Hospitality team. This hands-on role


involves preparing and serving high-quality barista-style coffee and light refreshments from our new trendy Bosworth Barista trailer.





As a key member of the team, the Barista will help deliver an exceptional service experience to students, staff, visitors, and members of the public. The ideal


candidate will be adaptable, customer-focused, and willing to work flexibly across multiple service areas as required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:



Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso, teas, and specialty drinks

Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other cafe equipment

Greet customers with warmth, take orders accurately, and handle transactions using the POS system

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the barista station, dining area, and equipment

Restock ingredients, cups, lids, and other cafe supplies as needed

Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Assist in opening or closing duties depending on shift

Provide suggestions and upsell products (e.g., pastries, snacks, or seasonal drinks)

Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when needed

Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth daily operations

Flair for marketing a funky new catering trailer to promote the school in the community.


Main Cafe & Dining Hall Support

Assist when required with food service across breakfast, lunch, and supper periods, including plating, portion control, and allergen labelling.

Support operations in the main cafepreparing food, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring clean and professional service areas.

Events, Functions & External Catering

Participate in catering for a wide range of school events and private functions, including: Open days, cultural celebrations, parents' evenings

Be available for weekend and evening work based on the school's events calendar.

PERSON SPECIFICATION



Essential Qualifications & Experience



Education & Training:



Good level of spoken and written English

Experience:



Previous experience in a barista or cafe service role

experience in an educational/facilities environment

Ability to work using own initiative

Ability to work within timeframes

Strong awareness of hygiene and cleanliness.

Friendly, reliable, and punctual.

Flexible and adaptable to business needs and shift patterns.

Professional presentation and a warm, welcoming manner.

Desirable Attributes



Relevant qualification in catering, hospitality, or food service management


(e.g., NVQ Level 2)

First Aid and Health & Safety training.

Experience in the Hospitality industry.
