Job Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Barista / Roastery Assistant to join our team. This is a dual-role position combining front-of-house customer service and coffee preparation with back-of-house roastery support. You'll be a key player in delivering exceptional coffee experiences while helping maintain the day-to-day operations of the roastery.

Key Responsibilities:

Barista Duties:

Prepare high-quality espresso-based and manual brew coffee drinks to company standards Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe/bar area Operate and maintain coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) Restock and rotate inventory and supplies Process sales using POS system accurately Educate customers about coffee offerings and products

Roastery Assistant Duties:

Assist in weighing, packing, and labelling roasted coffee Help with daily roasting prep, including green bean organization and batch tracking Maintain cleanliness of the roastery space and equipment Assist with inventory management and deliveries Support quality control by cupping and recording coffee profiles (training provided) Follow food safety and hygiene protocols

Qualifications:

Previous barista experience preferred, but training can be provided Interest in specialty coffee and willingness to learn about roasting and sourcing Physically fit and capable of manoeuvring 20kg of coffee (green coffee bags) Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Must be punctual, dependable, and enthusiastic

Preferred (But Not Required):

Experience with manual brewing methods (V60, Chemex, AeroPress, etc.) Knowledge of roasting equipment or coffee production processes Food safety or barista certification
