Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality customer service, barista-made coffee, and manage day-to-day operations within the Lingdale Tavern Community Coffee Shop. You will ensure that every customer receives an exceptional experience, preparing specialty drinks and light meals while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with the community hub's ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and a range of cold drinks with professionalism and attention to detail.

- Ensure the coffee shop equipment is properly maintained and cleaned daily.

- Assist in the preparation of light meals, sandwiches, and baked goods for both dine-in and takeout customers.

- Manage stock levels and supplies, including ordering ingredients when necessary.

- Ensure the coffee shop meets health and safety standards at all times, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

- Engage with customers to create a welcoming, community-focused environment.

- Support the Coffee Shop Manager in driving the success of the venue through excellent customer service and sales.

Person Specification:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a similar barista or hospitality role.

- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of customers.

- Knowledge of specialty coffee preparation, including espresso-based drinks.

- Ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy periods, while maintaining high service standards.

- Basic food hygiene certificate or willingness to acquire one.

Desirable:

- Experience working in a community-focused environment or small business.

- Enthusiasm for community engagement and supporting local initiatives.

- First aid training.

- Friendly and approachable demeanour.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a high standard of work.

- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.

- Passion for creating a positive, inclusive space for customers.
