The Role

We're looking for a

friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic barista

to join our weekend team. You'll be the face of Platform One--serving up great coffee, scooping gelato, and making sure every customer leaves with a smile.

What You'll Do

Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks to a high standard Scoop and present our artisan gelato with flair Handle payments and maintain a clean, welcoming space Chat with customers and offer recommendations Support occasional events like wine tastings or charity mornings

Previous barista experience preferred, but not essential--training provided A positive attitude and great communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Weekend availability is essential Bonus points if you love gelato and dogs

Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our vibrant team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items. Your expertise in coffee and food preparation will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Duties

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have about the menu. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, demonstrating basic maths skills for processing payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods, demonstrating effective time management skills. Engage with customers to create a friendly environment, fostering customer loyalty and satisfaction. Participate in food preparation tasks as required, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Skills

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders. Excellent time management abilities to ensure efficiency during peak hours. Knowledge of food safety practices to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Experience in food preparation is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
