We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the coffee shop during busy periods. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and time management are key.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, in accordance with company standards. Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Take customer orders accurately and process payments efficiently using the point-of-sale system. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers politely and professionally. Restock supplies and ensure that all equipment is functioning correctly throughout shifts. Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in handling food and beverages. Previous barista experience is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role. Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy. Basic food preparation skills to assist with light kitchen tasks when needed. Good organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple orders efficiently during busy periods. Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Strong time management skills to ensure timely service delivery without compromising quality or safety standards.
