Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our cafe team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing high-quality coffee and food offerings. This role involves operating POS systems, managing food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for all guests. Prior experience in coffee preparation and food service is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in retail and food industry operations within a dynamic cafe setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and food items according to company standards. Operate POS systems for order processing and cash handling. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries professionally. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including food preparation zones and seating areas. Ensure adherence to food safety and handling procedures at all times. Manage cash register operations accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations. Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and maintaining product freshness. Support sales efforts by suggesting menu items and promoting specials to enhance customer experience.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is preferred; familiarity with coffee industry standards is a plus. Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is advantageous. Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy. Understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Prior experience in serving or retail environments is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
