Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly barista & cafe all rounder for our bookshop cafe. The candidate should have previous barista and hospitality experience.

Duties may also include other aspects of working in a cafe, such as helping with food preparation, waiting on tables, helping out in the kitchen, if necessary.

Candidates with knowledge of literature and/or yoga will be particularly well suited to the role, as the cafe is based within a bookshop and yoga centre.

Duties

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and other beverages according to standard recipes. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, including workstations, equipment, and seating areas. Assist with food preparation, ensuring all items are fresh and presented attractively. Provide friendly and efficient service to customers, taking orders accurately and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of both customers and staff. Handle cash transactions accurately, including basic maths for processing payments. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Barista Knowledge of food safety practices. Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of or an interest in literature preferred. A willingness to help others and work as part of a team. Passion for service and eagerness to learn about different drinks and beverage preparation techniques.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 9.00-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week
