Job Summary

We are a community CIC cafe that is seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/Kitchen assistant to join our team. The role is to work 2 days a week from 8.30am to 15.30pm, must be flexible with days including Saturdays. The position is on a self employed basis. As a Barista/Kitchen assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your expertise in coffee preparation, food preparation and customer service will ensure that each guest has a lovely experience.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold foods from our menu. Ensure all food safety standards are met during food preparation and serving. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils. Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with their experience. Handle cash transactions and POS system accurately using basic math skills for processing payments. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of supplies and reporting shortages as needed. Following of open and close procedures.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is essential. Knowledge and experience of food preparation and safety practices is essential to maintain a consistent quality of food delivery and a hygienic working environment. Strong serving skills with the ability to create a positive customer experience through friendly interaction. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A passion for coffee, food and customer service is highly desirable, along with the ability to work well in a team setting. Pay: 12.21 per hour
