Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our vibrant team at a brand-new independent coffee shop. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of coffee and food items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all health and safety standards are maintained. The successful applicant will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, helping to foster customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist customers with menu selections, providing friendly and knowledgeable service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety standards at all times. Opening & closing duties, operate cash registers accurately, process transactions efficiently, and handle cash or card payments. Maintain stock levels for shop through orders. Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and packaging materials. Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers. Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise wait times while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a

Barista

or in a similar customer service role is preferred; however, training will be provided. Knowledge of

food safety

regulations is advantageous. Experience in

serving

customers with professionalism and courtesy. Good

basic maths

skills for handling transactions accurately. Strong

time management

abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently during peak hours. Friendly attitude with excellent communication skills. Ability to work well within a team in a dynamic environment.
