About us

We have an opening for a talented barista and server to join our team in the centre of Bishop's Stortford. Extra responsibilities and career development for the right candidate.

We are a family run French cafe and food store by day and bistro Friday and Saturday evenings. Little sister to the Highbury branch opened in 2006. We are Open 8-4 everyday and Friday & Saturday evenings 6-11pm. If you have a passion for hospitality, wine & coffee and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you. Experience is preferred but we're happy to consider candidates with a keen enthusiasm to learn.

Duties

- Table service for both daytime & evenings
- Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines and grinders
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders and answering queries
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Assist in restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels

Skills & qualities

- Previous experience in a similar environment is preferred
- Passion for hospitality, coffee and wine

- Resourceful and proactive

- Strong time management skills to handle peak hours efficiently

-Knowledge of food safety practices a bonus but training will be provided
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques

Details:

Competitive salary and pension contribution. 5.6 weeks of paid holiday each year. Guaranteed hours Both full time (5 days per week) or part time positions are available. We work every day so weekend availability is essential. We work on a rota so flexibility is required to include our Friday & Saturday evening shifts

Pay: 12.00-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
