Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional customer experience by preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the cafe, ensuring that all health and safety standards are met. Your ability to manage time effectively while providing friendly service will contribute to our welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
- Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; report shortages as needed.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the till with basic maths skills for accurate billing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle busy periods effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the cafe's operating hours.
