Thirteen is a new 22-cover fine dining restaurant in Poole, listed in the Michelin Guide. We are looking for an experienced Senior Front of House team member. This is a staff salaried position.
The concept is contemporary British cuisine providing tasting menus for lunch and dinner. This reservation-only restaurant also provides a wine pairing option and a selection of cocktails.
As
bartender
you will work directly with the Sommelier, Head Chef and Maitre D' to create an enjoyable, outstanding dining experience.
Responsibilities will include
Ensure the restaurant is prepared and set up for service
Ensure the bar is stocked for service and identify ordering levels
Attend pre-service team briefing with Head Chef
Making cocktails
Making coffees
Closing down the bar area at the end of a shift
Serving tables
Basic cleaning duties
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
Liaise with the restaurant team to maintain seamless service from start to finish

Essential experience and qualities
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Courteous and well presented for a high-end restaurant
At least 2 years front of house experience, either in a bar or restaurant
Bar and cocktail knowledge
Barista duties
Genuine interest in fine dining, willingness to learn
Consider hospitality as your profession
Desired experience and skills
Personal license holder is an advantage but not essential
WSET training and wine knowledge is an advantage but not essential
Willingness to learn about food preparation and culinary techniques is a plus

Shifts are typically Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We open for Sunday lunch approximately twice a month
We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays unless we have a request for exclusive private hire, very infrequent
Thirteen is located between Poole and Bournemouth on Ashley Road, Parkstone. The restaurant is on the major M1/M2 bus route and there is unrestricted on-street parking nearby
Pay & Tips
This is a zero-hour position
Gratuities are shared with all employees based on the number of hours worked, and is included in the monthly payroll
