Bartender/barista

Ipswich, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The Crafty Fox

is where coffee culture meets the craft bar scene. We pride ourselves on serving exceptional quality across the board--from perfectly poured flat whites to precision-mixed cocktails. We are looking for a versatile, reliable, and high-energy individual to join our small, dedicated team.

Job Summary

As a Bartender/Barista at The Crafty Fox, you will be a true "all-rounder." You'll be responsible for maintaining our high standards of service regardless of the time of day. Your shifts will be a mix of daytime cafe service and evening bar service, requiring you to pivot from steaming milk to pulling pints with ease.

This role offers a unique dynamic: you will enjoy the camaraderie of

teamwork

during our busiest peaks and the independence of

lone working

during quieter transitional shifts. Whether you are opening the doors for the first caffeine seekers or locking up after the final round of drinks, you are the face of our craft-focused atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks, ensuring quality standards are met. Be trained to use a manual espresso machine to make steamed milk drinks. Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, including counters, equipment, and seating areas. Follow food safety and hygiene regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers. Manage stock levels effectively, restocking supplies as needed throughout shifts. Handle cash transactions accurately and provide correct change. Assist with general cafe duties such as cleaning tables, sweeping floors, and restocking supplies to ensure a welcoming atmosphere. Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional service during busy periods.

Experience

We are looking for a candidate who is as passionate about hospitality as they are about the products they serve. To be successful, you should have:

Proven Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume hospitality environment (Bar, Cafe, or both).

Dual Skillset:

Proficiency in manual espresso machines (latte art is required!) and confidence behind a bar (handling draught lines, wine service, and cocktail builds).

Independence:

Experience with lone working is highly desirable. You must be trustworthy and capable of managing the floor, till, and stock levels solo when required.

Flexibility:

Total availability to work a rotating roster that includes early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

The "Crafty" Attitude:

A friendly, proactive personality with the ability to build rapport with our regulars and maintain a clean, organized workspace during busy periods.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 45 per week

Benefits:

Employee discount
