The St Andrews Golf Club is one of the biggest and oldest golf clubs in the world, with its inception in 1843. Today it is still a private members' club and still has lots to offer the golfing world. It caters to over 2,250 members from all corners of the globe and the clubhouse is the envy of many with its iconic view over the 18th green of the Old Course.

To support our existing team, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bar Person/Server. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and a strong understanding of bartending techniques. You will be responsible for creating an inviting atmosphere for our members while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role will involve, serving members, and guests, waiting on various functions and events ensuring compliance with all relevant aspects of best practice.

Duties

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members promptly. Maintain a clean and organised bar area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order. Engage with members to provide a welcoming experience, taking orders and offering recommendations. Monitor customer behaviour to ensure responsible service of alcohol and adhere to licensing regulations. Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and tracking stock levels. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Uphold food safety standards.

Experience

Previous experience in bar work/hospitality is essential. Strong time management skills and an ability to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a restaurant environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with members and guests. Basic experience in handling cash transactions and managing orders effectively.
