Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search is currently engaged by a European base/non-ferrous metals and metallic alloy trading business as they seek to expand their reach in a number of key geographies globally through the addition of physical traders in multiple metal commodities. With a diversified book across base/non-ferrous metals and input alloys, as well as strategic production facilities and JVs in key geographies, our client is interested in adding to their team to enhance both their product mix and geographical coverage
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building a profitable book trading metal products in international markets (Europe, the Americas, Asia, Middle East) sourcing and selling on a back to back basis or via production facilities/storage for certain metals
• Focus on building relationships with customers and end users to support increasing the company's market share in target markets
• Stay informed of changes and trends in the base metals and metallic alloy markets in order to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risk
• Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure a timely and smooth supply chain
• Prospecting for clients and business development (cold calling, qualifying, building the pipeline of deal)
• Monitoring and analyzing market performance internationally and communicating it to customers
• Networking to attract new clients, to build and maintain relationships with existing customers

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience trading refined metal products (base metals, non-ferrous, input alloys etc.) in the commodity space with a track record of success/positive PnL.
• Confident, adaptable, builds relationships easily and interacts well under pressure
• Solid understanding of market analysis and reporting in the metals space
• Experience working with an international logistics set up and thourough understanding of the logistics and supply chain in base/non-ferrous metal markets
• Fluency in English is a must; fluency in other languages will be an added advantage
• Travel where required for customer interactions, industry events and team events/meetings
