Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a Base Operative / Relief LGV Driver to support operations at our Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft facility.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible individual to join our team as a Base Operative with additional responsibilities to provide relief LGV driving cover as and when required.
This is a varied role that combines your core skills in quayside operations with the opportunity to support our logistics team during busy periods, holidays, or absence cover.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and unloading of vessels, trailers, and containers ensuring that all safety critical checks are completed.
Checking materials and maintaining yard and warehouse cleanliness.
Provide LGV Class 2 driving cover when required, including local and regional deliveries.
Ensure all transport and site safety standards are maintained
Complete vehicle checks, delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records. Applicants will have experience of operating a forklift up to 12 tonne and working in a similar role. Banksman/Slinger certificate is also highly desirable.
Requirements
Previous knowledge and experience of loading and unloading vessels
A strong commitment to health and safety and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and a customer -focused approach
Forklift license up to 12 ton
OPITO Banksman Slinger Certificate
LGV Class CE
Valid Driver's CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
