Job Description


ADAS, part of RSK Group, is seeking a Bat Ecologist / Senior Ecologist on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hybrid home and office-based position with the successful candidate to be located within a commutable distance to one of our ADAS offices in either the South West (Bristol), South Wales (Cardiff), Oxford, the Midlands (Wolverhampton) or Cambridge.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading on key Bat related project work, including mitigation design and licensing
  • Working as a team with our existing ecologists to ensure quality projects are delivered on time to our clients
  • Managing projects from inception to finalisation
  • Talking to our clients and providing solid technical advice
  • Writing of technical reports including but not limited to, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies and protected species reports
  • Leading on protected species surveys
Person Specification:
  • A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and be commutable to one of our offices listed above
  • Demonstrable ecology related experience with good working knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys and mitigation
  • Natural England Level 2 survey licence for Bats (or equivalent)
  • Experience in designing bat mitigation and applying for bat derogation licences
  • Graduate level education in a relevant subject
  • CIEEM membership
  • Experience of managing projects and liaising effectively with clients
  • Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports
Salary and Benefits
  • \xc2\xa324,000 - \xc2\xa337,000 per annum, depending on experience
