Reporting to: Marketing Manager
Location: Big Creative Academy, Clifton Avenue, E17 6HL
Annual leave: 30 days per annum
Purpose of the role:
Big Creative Academy's mission is to create careers, supporting young people onto the next steps. After completing a course here students are able to move into employment in the creative arts, secure an apprenticeship or go to university so that they can make a living from their passion.
This is an important post with significant responsibility in supporting student recruitment into BCE courses. Creative is the top industry choice for 14 year olds, however this does not translate into young people taking up creative courses. Too often, young people and parents get cold feet about careers in the creative industries. We need a talented and experienced individual to excite young people and parents about careers in the creative industries and reassure them there are rewarding, stable and lucrative jobs that AI is not taking over.
The Schools Liaison Officer will manage relationships with our feeder schools to ensure young people in Years 9, 10 and 11 are knowledgeable about creative pathways. This will include visits to schools, organising workshops and hosting events to support young people exploring creative education options for post-16
Principal Accountabilities:
To develop and deliver a coherent suite of activities with schools to support cross-BCE student recruitment. This is a project management role and requires a proactive approach.
Work with the student recruitment team, curriculum team and students to provide exciting activities for ages 13-16 in feeder schools
To build and manage relationships with identified feeder schools, ensuring we provide an effective service in meeting their statutory careers requirements
To promote and celebrate BCE to all stakeholders, driving engagement
To enhance the reputation of Big Creative Education regionally and locally
Together with the Schools Outreach Manager and wider marketing and recruitment team, to ensure all activities are effectively monitored and evaluated, leading to continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
Organise the delivery of events both inside and outside the college, including travel, resources and support materials. Communication plans must be clear, ensuring that deadlines are met.

Understand the skills landscape in the creative industries, with the ability to articulate skills gaps to young people and parents
Promote the Level 3 Art Foundation course in schools, to recruit learners from sixth forms and other colleges
High levels of planning, organisation and self-motivation - large scale events are scheduled up to a year in advance, to fit around school calendars, college calendar and the recruitment cycle. Smaller events need to fit within the cycle, and priority given to target schools and colleges. Timing of school, enquirer and applicant communications is key, and planning ahead with an awareness of the distinct peaks and troughs of activity is critical. Within these parameters, the post holder will need to plan and organise their own workload to ensure that requirements are met for multiple projects.
